10 low-cost ways to love those snowdrops

Have you seen any snowdrops yet this year?

Every year I look forward to particularly beautiful, delicate flowers, pushing their heads through the cold soil letting us know that spring is on its way. This winter has been rather strange, warmer than usual, and I am sure it will affect the flowering of snowdrops.

Flowers that should be in flower later are already here; camellias, daffodils, crocuses, magnolias in bud …but I haven’t seen any snowdrops in my garden yet.

  1. Oh Anita, the gardens at Cambo in Spring are something to behold, the daffs and snowdrops are in abudance and quite breathtaking.

Our snowdrop crop this year seems to have been decimated by the gardener, he must have thrown half the bulbs out in with his weeding, so disappointing.

  2. Hi Jackie,

Thank you for your comment :)

I would love to see the snowdrops at Cambo, particularly with their starlit event!

Sorry to hear you are missing a lot of snowdrops in your garden :(

I spotted one snowdrop in my garden; it flowered on a particularly tough day, and loved what it signifies – hope :)

  3. Hi Anita,

Not a single snowdrop has appeared in my garden this year. They don’t do particularly well in our sandy soil, but I can usually rely on a few to pop up. I do have crocuses / croci flowering though, and the daffodils are in bud, so I will have to ‘make do’ with those :-)

    • Hi Angela, thank you so much for joining the conversation :)

My single snowdrop is holding it’s own, and hanging on in there, dispite the elements :) I admire it greatly!
I too have some crocuses and dafdodils coming through, but will be looking forward to my grand snowdrop expeditions. I hope I manage to find some new, interesting places to add to my collection :)

Revenge: A dish best served cold?

I’m not a  nasty person. I’ve never in my life deliberately set out to hurt someone, or cause them pain. But right now, and for the past three or four years, on and off, my thoughts have been filled with fantasies of revenge. Now I have the opportunity, and I can’t decide what to do. [...]
