Buckle up and get ready for the ride of your life…

If your marketing was seriously motoring in the 70′s you were a Triumph Spitfire.. bit cheesy, in your face and very loud.. with four gears… Product, Price, Promotion and Place… and for a long time the 4Ps remained the chassis of most campaigns… Triumph spitfire 4

30 years later we finally ramp it up a gear to a super stylish Aston Martin … Product, Price, Promotion, Place and People…

and this monster seriously packs a punch and can really move…

Engage the gears and you can really motor…

With a huge number of Facebook’s 500 million users logging on for 55 minutes a day your products and services can be networked to a huge audience, if you put the right fuel in the tank.

But beware, the ride can be a bit bumpy… go too hard on high-octane selling and it could backfire in this world of engagement, making you a social pariah. Your “friends” and “followers” should replace the slick car salesmen and sell for you almost subliminally. Water down the mix too much and you miss the sale – so get it nicely balanced and tracked.

Oh and forget the 9-5 thing this baby ticks over 24/7 … if you let it.. so a shiny new automation system to manage and monitor it is a must-have not an optional extra…

Those you engage with want to see you fluffy dice, wide wheels and not-so-cool paint job… so it’s good netiquette to post a picture. Don’t think you can get away with an out-of-date one either, word of mouse will soon show you up for the old banger, sorry vintage model, you really are, as savvy online networkers follow-up and meet-up wherever possible.

There’s no age restriction on a license to drive this vehicle either… you can strap yourself in, tests the revs and put your foot down at any age… but hold on to your hat…

If you think tweeting should be left to the birds and you would rather zone out than be on linked-in you really are retro… time to trade-in your marketing for a newer model… before your competition start whisking your customers off for the drive of their life…

  2. In my work I’m like my dear old Lexus. Rusting in places but comfortable, reliable, and still faster than shite off a shovel. However many people use the Smart Car approach to marketing now … ridiculously small, surprisingly strong, quick and cost-effective, but totally lacking in front.

Beep, beep. (And a great article, Amanada!)
