Chocolate iPhone cover by Komade – a review

Being an iPhone loving gal, and a chocolate loving gal, when Sarah said she had an iPhone cover that looked like chocolate to be reviewed, I almost snatched her hand off!

First, the usual disclaimer: this item was given to us by Mobile Fun, free of charge in return for an honest review. The thoughts below are mine, and don’t necessarily represent the rest of the Birds. Retweet this blog to be in with the chance to win one.

Right, here we go :)

The case arrived in a box that looked like a chocolate box – unfortunately the packaging was damaged in transit to France, so there’s no picture of the squished box – but it was pretty cool.

Taking out the case, I was confronted with a bendy rubber oblong that does indeed look exactly like a bar of chocolate!

With holes on the side for the volume controls, on the top for reception, and on the bottom so the charger can fit in, so far so good :)

Turning it over, this is where your phone fits in:

So in goes my phone and off I go.

It’s quite odd looking in your handbag for your phone, and realising that you don’t actually have a bar of chocolate you’ve forgotten about, that IS your phone :)

I used the cover for a few days, so here’s my rundown of what’s good and bad.

Good

  • It really DOES look like a chocolate bar!
  • It’s very rubbery so if you drop your phone it bounces :)
  • It makes a great talking point
  • It is kinda cool

Bad

  • Once it’s on, you can’t use the iPhone camera as there’s no hole for the lens
  • It’s quite bulky so if, like me, you like slipping your phone into your back pocket, it may not be for you

All in all it was a bit of a hit in our household – when I went back to my trusty purple case that also covers the screen of my iPhone, my daughter stole it ‘just in case’ she ever gets one!

  1. I don’t have an iPhone but I know a man who does … and he likes chocolate, too. So I’m tweeting!

  2. It doesn’t sound ideal for slipping into your evening bag either Nikki if it is that bulky

  3. I have to be honest and say Ida, I like my iPhone to have a cover over the screen so it wouldn’t suit me, however they may make a good stocking filler as my teen has her eye on the one we have as a giveaway prize.

  5. Nice and creative case. When I first saw it on the photo I thought…that would be interesting if smb will be so hungry that doesn’t recognize that’s just a case and try to eat a piece of chocolate)) That would be funny.
