A franchise is a form of business organization in which a firm which already has a successful product or service (the franchisor) enters into a continuing contractual relationship with other businesses (franchisees) operating under the franchisor’s trade name and usually with the franchisor’s guidance, in exchange for a fee. Some of the most popular franchises in the United States include Subway, McDonalds, and 7-Eleven.
Spa services and health services have just started taking the franchise world by storm in recent years. These are the franchise categories that are primed for continued growth over this year, no matter how the economic circumstances may be.
I want to mention what for me are the most successful franchises which can lead you to a greater profit over the time.
Cleaning and maintenance franchises are an excellent choice for the entrepreneurs who possess the ability to get the best out of their employees.
Regardless of whether the economy is up or down, businesses and homeowners consistently have a need for cleaning services.
Society’s obsession with health and fitness is well-documented. These days, exercising isn’t only for athletes and jocks. There’s even an increased emphasis on fitness among seniors. Being fit has multiple benefits, including a healthier heart, less stress, more energy, sounder sleep habits, and a sense of well-being.
Own a franchise business in the children franchises category that offers you the opportunity to work with kids and young adults while helping parents.
Many franchises are approved by the Small Business Administration. Why does this matter? Applicants for SBA-approved franchises are granted expedited loan processing when applying for financial assistance from the SBA.
When you invest in your own business this can be one of the most critical decisions you will ever make. The challenges are enormous physically and emotionally. Selecting the franchise in itself is a serious and time-consuming process. While many new franchisees select a franchise after having a personal experience at a franchise outlet, most use the Internet to search for a franchise to buy.
First, have some knowledge of your financial capability.
Do you have capital available to invest?
Don’t forget the possibility of obtaining additional capital for the investment from a loved one or a friendly investor.
Next, think about what you like to do, and what you do not like to do, and choose accordingly. If you don’t like working with the public, then a retail business should not be considered. If you like working with children, animals, crafts, or involvement in sports, then target a franchise in that matching category.
After you speak with the franchise representative, if you are still interested, and if the franchise is interested in you, then you will be requested to complete a formal franchise application, which will involve typically a credit check and sometimes a background check. If you meet the franchisor’s guidelines, then by law the franchisor is required to send or provide to you a disclosure document, known as a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
And do not forget the key questions to ask the franchise representative, “how much can I make?”
Please note that this article offers advice based on franchise business in North America. If you’re interested in obtaining a franchise in the UK, you’ll find a lot of helpful information on the British Franchise Association website, and if you’re Europe based, from the European Franchise Federation.

I’m not a nasty person. I’ve never in my life deliberately set out to hurt someone, or cause them pain. But right now, and for the past three or four years, on and off, my thoughts have been filled with fantasies of revenge. Now I have the opportunity, and I can’t decide what to do. [...]
