I am a director of a small software business, Qualia Systems, which was founded in 2000. My background is in software testing, but since getting involved in a startup I have found myself doing everything from the VAT return, to creating marketing materials. I also designed the user interface of our business software tool, Incanto, and write the user manuals.
I started writing seriously three years ago, and my first story, The Tree of Knowledge, was shortlisted for the Asham Award. My major personal goal is publication. I’ve just completed my first crime novel, The Mermaid’s Shroud, and have started work on a new novel.
My main interests are in learning and creativity, and I’m planning to write generally around these topics – sometimes with reference to the business, but also to my development as a writer and textile artist.
