I am a director of a small software business, Qualia Systems, which was founded in 2000. My background is in software testing, but since getting involved in a startup I have found myself doing everything from the VAT return, to creating marketing materials. I also designed the user interface of our business software tool, Incanto, and write the user manuals.
I have something of a reputation for procrastination, which is not surprising as I finally completed my honours degree this year, thirty years later than expected. There were alot of detours along the way, and I have few regrets, except taking such a long break from writing, which is my true passion.
I started writing again three years ago, and my first story was shortlisted for the Asham Award. My major personal goal is publication. I am currently working on two novels and several short stories.
My main interests are in learning and creativity, and I’m planning to write generally around these topics – sometimes with reference to the business, but also to my development as a writer and textile artist.
