Jackie Walker

I’m honoured to be invited by The Birds to join their wonderful community.

After many years blogging and writing on relationships, divorce, stress and fear, I’m looking forward to writing on both these and any other things I might stumble across! My main driver is to help others find peace in their lives. Isn’t peace something which we could all do with more of?

I’m a 50 year old divorced mother of two teenage daughters. My daughters live with their father and I spend much of my time living with my elderly mother. I’m based in Scotland – Edinburgh and the Borders area (which is about an hour’s drive south of Edinburgh!)

I’ve usually a got at least three books on the go – a mix of self help stuff and novels. I’m exploring tantra and the tarot just now.

I run a successful therapy/coaching practice mainly from the end of a phone. Therapy over the phone isn’t something which many other therapists undertake and yet I find the results achieved can be profound. I like to take a very pragmatic view to coaching and therapy and believe that there’s no need for it to take months.

I’ve also instigated an A&E service for folk to access in urgent situations. Being able to offload at the time is much more effective than waiting for a huge pile of stressful things to end up on your plate only to knock you senseless and render you incapable of functioning.
