Suhad Jarrar

A Higher Education sector management and academic affairs professional, Suhad obtained her BA in English Literature and Language from Jordan where she was born and brought up, followed by a Diploma in Education, and an MSc in Gender, Culture and Society from the University of London, before  qualifying as a Careers Advisor at London South Bank University.

For her Master’s Degree Suhad focused on Gender and Education and in particular young girls’ education within nomadic societies in Jordan. For her fieldwork she travelled and lived with the Bedouin of the East Jordanian Desert near the Iraq border. Suhad currently works as a scholarships, conferences and events officer for an international charity in London.

Prior to that Suhad worked in different countries and organisations such as the United Nations University International Leadership Academy in Jordan-Japan, The British Museum and the UAE University in Abu Dhabi.

In addition to her involvement in charities and NGOs in both the Middle East and the UK, Suhad’s research interests are intercultural and interfaith dialogue, gender issues, the Higher Education Sector and Islamic Art & Ethnic Jewellery. She is also a keen blogger on East meets West issues.
